New Acropolis promoting Ethical training in the Prison System (Brazil)
New Acropolis Cuiabá, in partnership with the MPMT, has been promoting Ethical training in the state’s prison system (Brazil). On March 20, representatives of the school of philosophy met with the Attorney General Josane Fátima de Carvalho Guariente to discuss new projects and initiatives aimed at promoting human values within the Mato Grosso prison system.
New Acropolis is already a partner of the MPMT in the “Reconstruindo Sonhos” program, which takes place in several cities in the state. In a free translation, the program name is “Rebuilding Dreams”. The organization holds lectures and activities aimed at ethical development and is contributing to the reconstruction of lives and dreams throughout the state.
Also in March, professor Vinicius Negrão, lawyer and director of New Acropolis Cuiabá, attended a meeting held by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Mato Grosso. The event brought together several authorities and representatives of institutions linked to the justice, education and social assistance systems. The objective was to present the APAC (Association for the Protection and Assistance of Convicted Persons) model to the Secretary of Justice, Vitor Hugo Bruzulato. In Cuiabá, the project is in the process of being implemented and is already showing results, reducing recidivism among participants who have been reintegrated into society.
Participants highlighted the need for humanization and education to achieve the goal of resocialization. Prosecutor Josane Fátima de Carvalho Guariente, coordinator of Rebuilding Dreams , highlighted the importance of partnerships in promoting restorative justice. New Acropolis is committed to promoting human values and will continue to join forces to contribute to ethical education and the construction of a better world.
