Stoicism at Genaro Pérez Museum: What to Do When Life Doesn’t Go as Planned (Córdoba, Argentina)
The historic Genaro Pérez Museum once again hosted a space for deep thought and dialogue with the open lecture “Stoicism: What to Do When Life Doesn’t Go as Planned?”, presented by New Acropolis Córdoba.
In an era often dominated by burnout, anxiety, and uncertainty, the gathering provided a welcome pause from daily pressures. Addressing the frustration that arises when events escape our control, Stoic philosophy offered a practical and remarkably modern framework for resilience.
By examining the wisdom of Epictetus, Seneca, and Marcus Aurelius, participants explored timeless principles to navigate modern challenges:
-
The Dichotomy of Control: Distinguishing clearly between what is up to us—our thoughts, actions, and responses—and what is not.
-
Managing Expectations: Understanding the difference between active acceptance and passive resignation or cold indifference.
-
Energy Focus: Ceasing to drain emotional resources on unchangeable circumstances in order to focus on what we can truly shape.
We thank everyone who joined us to reflect, ask bold questions, and take home practical tools for daily life.
