New Acropolis engages in International weeks against Racism (Nuremberg, Germany)
As already in former years, New Acropolis Nuremberg again took active part in the International weeks against racism, well in line with its first principle of universal brotherhood among all human beings.
The first part of the speech given highlighted the importance of philosophical education for the prevention of separation and racism. This is well in line with the proposal of the UNESCO, which considers philosophy as an appropriate means to preserve peace. The speaker suggested a new “Renaissance” as a possible way towards moral and philosophical renovation. The key idea for this could be “Unity through diversity” accompanied by a continued enhancement of man´s consciousness, thereby gradually overcoming separation and racism.
The second part of the event illustrated in which ways New Acropolis has been practising this type of comprehensive philosophical education already for nearly 70 years in over 500 schools worldwide.
